Rich beds of gold silver and turquoise are identified in core samples near these locations between 2002-2015
Alvord Oregon was an amazing place that had agates, sunstones, petrified plants and animals, turquoise, crystals and jaspers everywhere...
Above: Alvord Oregon sulfur bath... the natural sulfur gives the small turquoise samples found here a lovely yellow-green color and small sparkling inclusions of sulfur crystals in the matrix.
While walking Oregon's many trails and both charted an un-charted pathways and riverways it's important to always recognize the subtle details that one finds between the readily visible picture. ( do you see what I see?) Look just up the trail ! - that tree has signs of root agitation which is a sure tell of rich minerals right bellow us. Notice how the ground is loose but rocky and heavily compacted with access to many diverse mineral introductions and a steady source of moisture from Oregon's dense rainforests ancestry which over the last 150 years has been severely reduced due to illegal logging across our beautiful mother state who's lush spirit fights on through the conservative and sustainably minded extraction practices which requires no heavy equipment or machinery and utilizes only our hands to reduce the impact we make as we help provide you with the beautiful native treasures of our wonderful and mostly undiscovered states while exploring the many trails & undocumented rivers of Oregon,Washington and the surrounding native area.
For example the creek shown above is rich with gold iron jasper and YES turquoise- which was so beautiful and of such a rich pure dark blue coloration and pleasing hue that I have several images of the cleaned yield in our (LINK) at the bottom of our gallery page CHECK IT OUT....
It is often unknown wheather or not there will even be turquoise in the thousands of locations we regularly track and document around the region but most often we have found that in our experience there is always one sure sign of quality turquoise in the general area which can be seen as a combination of A) percolating moisture B) wild coppers C)volcanic minerals = AAA TOP quality ( rare) gem grade or artisan grade turquoise deposits of a general average hardness of 4-6 mohs depending on base matrices (matrix) and variant porosity from environmental formation factors such as the levels of any given mineral introduction during formation. FOR EXAMPLE (Iron)would in a heavier introduction produce a rich green or a mix of reds browns and greens. Whereas a heavy aluminium level introduction (which is very rare) produces the highly coveted and often extremely rare ROBINS EGG BLUE.
(ABOVE) PETRIFIED TREE - protruding from mineral rich soils which has visible iron, silica, copper, and carbon as well as many other interesting inclusions such as the bones and fossilized animals which provide the turquoise with an extremely unique and desirable color and hue. With unpredictable swirling inclusions and rich variations that can accent ANY unique artistic jewelry setting, or as a cherrished display .
(ABOVE) A massive swamp near the Columbia river which is fen from underneath the ground. We located small traces of non-obtainable gold flakes and some copper which was of low quality but MAINLY we found beautiful turquoise which had a spider-web like matrix made from the heavy inclusion of HOST-ROCK which appears to be granite and iron-ore with swirls of copper and mineral rich soil.
the resulting color was of a rich green and some darker blues but more green than anything. when finalizing the wash we located a large bundle of edible oyster mushrooms seen in my hand.
Here is a great shot of the area where we located the lava-stone artifact that is a carved box with a concealed tool or carving of some kind seen on our artifacts page (simply press the provided link at the top of our webpage)
WHITE RIVER - JUST AMAZING (: GREAT LAND and better minerals ....
Bear springs.... great gold and iron pockets make for gemmy red blood-jasper
